Dating Apps Schnapps |My Thoughts|

Dating apps has been a subject of talk around my peers in the past months (when you’re in your 20’s/30’s amIright?! Lol), then I realized something…
A friend was sharing of a friend who’s been dating a lot for the past three or so years through dating apps, and she still hasn’t found anyone to get serious with. When I look around me, I hear stories of how people date around, find or maybe not find someone, but in the end, they don’t find that fulfillment in anything they’ve tried when it comes to dating.
When you’re single, it’s so easy to funnel down the “main reason” of feeling alone because you are… well, single. But even when you’re in a relationship, you can still find that same “emptiness” or the same bouts of insecurities you had before you were in a relationship. So, what seems to be the problem?!
That emptiness, that void, that feeling of being unwanted, unloved, not chosen— those are lies but we do legit feel them, don’t we? We go through life searching to solve that problem of deep longing, that deep desire… So, we buy things to fill that void, we go through relationships seeking to be loved.
In Pensées VII, Blaise Pascal wrote “What else does this craving, and this helplessness, proclaim but that there was once in man a true happiness, of which all that now remains is the empty print and trace? This he tries in vain to fill with everything around him, seeking in things that are not there the help he cannot find in those that are, though none can help, since this infinite abyss can be filled only with an infinite and immutable object; in other words by God himself.”
CS Lewis referred to it as the “God-shaped hole in our hearts”.
That is true. Until we find that satisfaction and contentment with Jesus, we will always have that Jesus void. We will continue searching for things and relationships to fill it up, but still come up empty. I don’t have to convince you to know it’s true. The truth is, only He can fit the puzzle. It’s always been meant for Him to fill that up.
Going back to the dating convo… but why is it even us single Christians (or even the married ones) go to apps and church parties, frantically and desperately looking for that someone? (Tbh, it annoys me when someone only comes to church to find someone and drops off the face of the earth when they found someone, anyway that’s another topic) Now, I ask this question, why are we so desperate? Did Jesus really fill that void of desire in your heart then? Because I assure you, if you haven’t let Him fill you up, you will still go through life trying to fit everything to fill that desire in your heart. How can I say this? I’ve read and heard countless stories from married people (even Christian ones) who go through the same pattern. Searching and searching and never finding, because the one you’ve been looking for has always been there holding your hand- or He is already in your heart! We only have to look at Jesus and let Him do the work.
How do we exactly do this? Well the answer sadly is not as straightforward. I am still in the journey on this myself, but in recent years, as I matured in my relationship with God, this answer has matured with me too. As you open your heart to Jesus, the prayer of “Jesus you are the only One” or “You are enough”, will become more and more your reality. I have grown in my understanding of God and Who He truly is, and how this applies in my life.
There are so many layers in this, and it is truly my desire to walk with you in this. It is not a “one time” thing bang bang, you get the instant answer. It’s a daily thing. It never finishes. We are constantly growing, in theology terms, “sanctification”. And that in itself is the beauty of this life we get to live with Jesus.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic. What are your good or bad experiences with dating, dating apps, etc.? Where are you in your “finding contentment in Jesus” walk?
If you found yourself needing a friend or someone who can help you in your faith, I would love to connect with you. Comment or email me, sign up to my blog, DM me on Insta, I have all the details in the sidebar. I would love to connect with you, sis!

my favorite LUX base makeup products ???????

Hello beautiful gorgeous people!
Today, I’ll be sharing my favorite luxury brand base makeup. I don’t use them too often (because they’re expensive… and yeah that’s about it. haha) BUT they really are SOOO GOOOD and sooooo WORTH every penny.
PRIMER: Guerlain L’OR RADIANCE CONCENTRATE WITH PURE GOLD, $74(USD)
Guerlain l’Or is an embellishing make-up base sprinkled with pure 24-carat gold flakes. Like the most luxurious jewellery pieces, the precious flakes were crafted into ultra-sparkling and ultra-reflective particles, then dispersed in a hydrating smoothing gel. The complexion is beautified. It glows with divine and unfailing radiance. Skin is smooth, supple and satiny, ready for perfect, enhanced and long-lasting make-up.
Why I love it: Tati Westbrook, youtube beauty guru, actually did a review on this months and months ago and I decided to try it when I got a discount price at David Jones (AU) months and months ago as well. It leaves my skin tightened and firm and just pure luxurious every time after I apply this. PLUS, my makeup last really longer than normal using this. It also gives my face a natural glow, which is really amazing since I have a lot of redness in my face, and I have oily T-zone.
FOUNDATION: DIORSKIN AIRFLASH SPRAY FOUNDATION, $62(USD)
The go-to solution for professional makeup artists, Dior’s Airflash is the first revolutionary spray foundation that brings airbrushed perfection to your daily makeup routine.
The Dior laboratory has created an Airflash formula that is lighter and silkier than ever for a fabulously even, flawless and radiant finish. Paraben-free and infused with fresh natural oils that evaporate as soon as they land, it settles with no visible texture as a silky-smooth veil with long-wearing coverage. The result is instant: a super-smooth, velvety complexion that feels like a second skin, full of radiance and glow. State-of-the-art complexion perfection.
Why I love it: It’s long lasting, easy to apply (spray then blend with a brush or beauty blender. For more coverage, I prefer a kabuki brush), and it has medium to full coverage. The only thing is, here in Australia (I got mine from Myer) they only offer limited shades (I think there were only 4!) but on their website (click on the link above), there are 11 shades available. I haven’t tried airbrush foundation before, so I can’t really say if the finish of this foundation really looks airbrushed. But I must say, it is flawless. What more can I say? It has lasted me almost a year now, and I still have lots left. But I only use it probably 4 times a month, on the average. I have oily T-zone, a bit of dry skin now (which I don’t have before!), so combo skin. But this works for me. My T-zone doesn’t really grease up until probably after the 4th hour mark or so…
HIGHLIGHTER: YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT, $42(USD)
Touche Eclat is a cult favorite among top makeup artists, models, celebrities and women everywhere. 1 Touche Eclat is sold somewhere in the world every 10 seconds. This golden pen is the #1 beauty tool and makeup bag essential for the modern woman.
Not just a concealer, Touche Eclat is the original face highlighter that launched a new generation of makeup. It emphasizes radiance over coverage and does not mask the skin for a more natural, luminous complexion. You won’t see Touche Eclat makeup, you’ll see the light.
Learn How to apply Touche Eclat to erase fatigue, highlight features and lighten dark spots and circles. The evanescent texture blends seamlessly on bare skin or over makeup. Touche Eclat is 8 hours of beauty sleep in a click.
Why I love it: It sure isn’t a bestseller for no reason. This concealer is pretty hyped up amongst all beauty lovers all over the world. Also used as a highlighter, and I mainly use it as a highlighter because it is not pigmented enough to hide well, pigmentations I use it under the eye and along the bridge of my nose. I’ve seen it all around the beauty world and went back over and over to different YSL counters to try them and test them out (yes, I’m one of those hehe). Finally, when I was on the airport last year, since it was 20%off the regular price, I risked it and just bought them. It’s really good. I may have had the “why did I buy this?!” moment, but it was immediately squashed by the amazingness of the product. It is quite tricky though to be able to find the perfect primer, foundation and this concealer combination. There was a time when the skin under my eye were dry-ish, and I used a silicone-based primer that day and they just don’t mesh well under dry skin. So, beware! I managed to still have them up to now (many many months after), as I don’t use it everyday. (it’s expensive!)
Anyway, I thought I’d just share to you interested people out there, what lux products I use for special occasions. They’re not cheap and if you’re not willing, I suggest don’t buy them. But if you’re keen to try them out, go to the nearest makeup counters and ask for samples (if they do give them but for these ones I was told they don’t), or you can just let the beauty advisers try them on you and test them out for the rest of the day. As for me, this is my experience and opinion.
Have a lovely shopping!
xoxo,
jenna

My Lips are sealed, it's all about the lips baby! ???

.
.
For those of you out there who are not aware, I am a self-confessed lipstick junkie. I love them: wearing them, collecting them, staring at them…YEP. I’m weird like that. I even have this picture on a lips chair! I love them yet I don’t wear them all the time. I have lipstick ON days, and lipstick OFF days. Is that weird? We are who we are. I am who I am.
.
.
.
What is this post all about anyway? Well, I just wanted to share my lipstick collection. Picture below:
.
.
.
.
.
.
It’s not as much as other people have, but with this amount, I already get overwhelmed. I wouldn’t mind having one or two lipstick, or one of every color known to man, and honestly I would probably buy more if given the chance. I do give away a lot as well.
.
Different lipsticks, different functions?
.
There are different types of ‘lipsticks’ now in the market.
.
There are ‘liquid lipsticks‘, which are melted lipsticks with the same application with lipgloss. They are designed to last longer on the lips. My favorite formula is from the Rimmel brand line. They last all day, doesn’t chip away and are very affordable! Liquid lipsticks are the hype right now. Almost every brand comes out with their own version own formula of it.
.
Then there are the lip liners. They basically exist for you to line your lips and avoid “spillage” of the lipstick “ink”, if such terms exist. Some people line their or other people’s lips to make them appear bigger than they are (the trend Kylie Jenner didn’t invent yet became popular because of her). Not as a pillage to her, but I love the Kylie Lip kit lipliners. They’re not the cheapest out there but I just love them and mine are shrinking as the days go by.
.
Lipstick crayons. What?! Basically, these lipsticks are packaged in the “crayon” sorta way. Colourpop Cosmetics are popular with this. But I think, I could be mistaken though, Revlon started this trend years ago. They tend to last longer than the normal classic lipsticks. ;0
.
Lip stains. I am pretty sure the Koreans have made this popular, via Kpop industry. That’s my take though. Don’t quote me on that! Lip stains are basically “lip tints” where you just leave your lips to look naturally red, or pink, or whatever color your heart desires.
.
Lipstick Finish, what are they?
.
This is the matte, satin, creamy, gloss, stain, sheer… you name it, the makeup companies have it! Just so you won’t be confused, you can just categorize them into matte or satin. If they look dry, they’re matte. If it’s shiny? It’s satin. There are lipsticks that are comfortable on the lips, and some can be extremely annoying too.
.
Too much information? You don’t have to know all of those things! I didn’t even study them, I just learned along the way. Anyway, at the end of the day, does it really matter what we wear on our lips? What comes out of our mouth is much more important than the aesthetics we present to people, hey?
.
love you guys! thanks for dropping by.
(PS. Would you want me to post my favorite lipsticks? )
