“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Back in the glory days of Rome, a “Roman triumph” was a parade of celebration by the victorious military commander. Let’s bring that concept into this verse and picture this: You drive into the city, head held high standing on your chariot because you won the battle. Not only that! There is more! You are wearing a crown your enemy tried to steal from you. Not only did you get it back, you are wearing it. You did not just come back from the battle a conqueror, taking back what’s yours, but you even have more!
I know that is just a picture, but this promise right here is that Jesus won and victory is ours through Him. More than that, the verse says “we are more than conquerors”, because truth is because of Jesus, there is more than just victory, there is abundant and thriving life.
No matter what you are facing at the moment, you will come out on the other side not only victorious over your situation, but also thriving in life because of the love of God.
