With war looming on all horizons, the only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.

Aelin's journey from assassin to queen has entranced millions across the globe, and this fifth installment will leave fans breathless. Will Aelin succeed in keeping her world from splintering, or will it all come crashing down?

my thoughts

[If you haven’t read any of the previous books, you should before you read this 5th book. And NO, you won’t understand this book if you skip even one of the previous ones. ?)

…………….MY GOODNESS. I AM SO SPEECHLESS. THIS BOOK. ————-………………………………
…………………………………………………………………………..??
…………….I just honestly didn’t see that coming. I actually didn’t even know what I expected, I guess nothing. Except that I will be brought in an adventure and that’s precisely what I got.?
…………….
…………….Yes, this series is New Adult, which the covers are misleading but hey. And so, I fell in love with the rawness of the book, the vulnerabilities of each character and the bruteness and strength of each character. They certainly are not the same people they were from the first book. How divergent yet similar they all are, in one way or another. The group formed in the book- they’re my DREAM TEAM. Seriously! How they all slowly came together as one whole team (Aelin, Rowan, Aedion, Lysandra, Dorian, Manon, Gavriel, Fenrys, Lorcan, Elide) felt like destiny! ?

…………….I feel like I’ve found my reconciliation and peace in this book too.? Considering how much I did not like certain characters in the previous books (Manon is one, and let’s be honest, Aelin/Celaena wasn’t the best of the female characters at all times). But man oh man, this book and its surprises left me reeling for more. I feel like it left a huge gaping hole in my chest. (overdramatic! ?) The PLOT TWIST are not just at every turn of the chapter but ALSO the END! OF COURSE there has to be an “I-didn’t-see-that-coming” drama at the end where the villain reveals all his/her plans all along. ? I don’t personally get it. But also I do get it, they have to explain their wondrous most awesome plan all along. And how genius it is. As if the other characters in the book will glorify or praise them for it. PFT.?

…………….And so, Empire of Storms ends here, another year of my life spent waiting for it and now another year of my life spent waiting for the next one. ? It’ll be worth the wait. Dang, Sarah J. Maas just keeps on pushing and pushing the limits of her amazing writing and cunning and ingenious storyteller gift. And we benefit from it. So, Thanks Sarah J. Maas! 😀 I knew you were special the first time I met you back in 2012.

…………….How about you? Have you read any of the books in the series? What are your thoughts? If not, will you be interested in reading it?

…………….

  1. I’ve read the first four and I’m absolutely dying to get to this one which might not be until next month. Damn my TBR pile! When I finally get to it, I will likely be jumping and screaming like a mad woman because I just absolutely LOVE this series, Maas is the queen – and I need more Manon in my life.
