The worst was supposed to be over. We were reunited after a decade apart. We were discovering the truth of our past. We were training and getting stronger every day. We were even happy...
We never imagined the Mogodorians could turn one of our own against us. We were fools for trusting Five. And now Eight is lost forever. I would do anything to bring him back, but that's impossible. Instead, I will do whatever it takes to destroy every last one of them.
I've spent my entire life hiding from them, and they've stolen everything away from me. But that stops now. We're going to take the battle to them. We have a new ally who knows their weaknesses. And I finally have the power to fight back.
They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
Number Three in Kenya.
And Number Eight in Florida.
They killed them all.
I am Number Seven.
I will make them pay.
So I continued reading where I left the story hours ago.. I presumed I had about 20 more pages to read.. Until I turned the next page and found it was the end. I can’t count how many times I flipped the last page over and over just to make sure it was the last one. “How can this be the freaking ending of this freakin’ book??!!” Oh cliffhangers! How I hate thee!
*stops and calms selfs*
Okay, now weeks after I feel better. haha!
The Revenge of Seven is my pick for “Best second book in a Series” category for the year 2014. And it’s not without a reason. Right as you first dive into the first page, you are brought in in the middle of the story, no extra annoying itty bitties as introduction. Then it goes from one action scene to information-ladden scene, to killing Morgadorian (bad ugly enemy aliens) sprees, to power infusing show-off scene, to secret facility revealing scene. You get the idea. After so much reading slump from me, this action packed book brought out so much off my reading fervor. YAY for me!
As usual, I can’t say anything about the writing because it was good. Though I’m not really a fan of multiple POVs but this series is one of the exceptions. I can’t imagine it any other way. And it probably won’t work the same the other ways. Since there is NOT only ONE main character but a LOT of them, and they are not all the time at the same place. So..you get the idea. Though I think the first book, I Am Number Four, is from Four’s POV only. But starting second book, it spread out. Again as I said, all the “gardias” (the Lorien people: Four, Five, Six, Marina, Eight and Nine). I just realized it’s so weird writing those names and remembering certain faces with them and characteristics, well in fact if you’re reading this review and you haven’t read any of the books yet, it would have been just a series of weird numbers for you. haha!
Okay, let’s go to the plot. I think I’m liking where the story is going, since we’re getting somewhere, and that somewhere nearer to the end. YEEEP! SO EXCITING. Especially for the last chapters of the book (The Revenge of Seven), you can just feel it in your veins that the END is NEAR. You know what I’m sayin’? SIGH. I always forget how many books there are in this series, I think there’s going to be seven? NO, there are SIX. (confirmed.) and this is the FIFTH book! NO wonder the last pages were so awesome and SPINE TINGLING. And it has that “I-CAN-FEEL-IT-IN-MY-VEINS” coming. AAAAH!!!
Did I even make sense? It’s still morning I’m writing this review and I feel like I downed me some gallon of coffee (whereas I haven’t eaten anything yet).
Anyhoo, that’s my review of The Revenge of Seven. I can’t wait for the last book. I hope it’s going to be EPIC and the ending will be worth it. I’m going to miss this series so much! As this series bonded me and one of my friends (shout out to Von! hey darling!!! comment below when you read this teehee). The last book is still untitled but little birds told me this YEAR? ooh yeah!
