In this dazzling and long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed Mortal Instruments series, Clary and her friends fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary's own brother.
Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures out of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell.
The embattled Shadowhunters withdraw to Idris - but not even the famed demon towers of Alicante can keep Sebastian at bay. And with the Nephilim trapped in Idris, who will guard the world against demons?
When one of the greatest betrayals the Nephilim have ever known is revealed, Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec must flee - even if their journey takes them deep into the demon realms, where no Shadowhunter has set foot before, and from which no human being has ever returned...
Love will be sacrificed and lives lost in the terrible battle for the fate of the word in the thrilling final installment of the classic urban fantasy series The Mortal Instruments!
This being the last book in one of my MOST loved series + I’ve waited 2 years to read the final installment + my not being ready to face the fact that I (we) have to say goodbye to the characters I love so much= TOO MUCH!
I have said before and I will say it again, once a book that has such a GREAT impact on my reading career (if there is even such a thing), I tend to be more whack and out of sorts when I make a review out of it. At first I didn’t want to make a review for this book, because it feels so much like a goodbye. But not making a review also makes the whole experience lacking on my part. So here I am.
And I will use gifs. I rarely do. But this is required.
Overall, my reaction can be summarized as this:
In my ATTEMPT to organize my somehow blown up mind, I will categorize and give my reaction.
JACE + CLARY
Other than the fact that they TOTALLY overshadowed their previous acts of HEROISM?
(I salute you both! GREAT CHARACTER BUILDING and MATURITY for them. so proud!)..
here’s my MOST outstanding reaction.
I SERIOUSLY cannot believe they did that. ( I REFUSE to say what “did” means teehee)
let’s hop on to….
Simon Simon Simon Simon Simon…
I have to be honest with you guys. At first, back to the first book, City of Bones, when I first read it in 2009, I really didn’t like Simon. Later on, I learned to like him.
NOW? I LOVE HIM.
What is Simon without…
I totally SHIP them.
You were AWESOME.
I didn’t know you had it in you to be this awesome.
Is it possible to love you even more? Because I just did.
OH. also for SEBASTIAN.
I have 3 REACTIONS for you
apparently 3 is not enough. SO..
I cannot possibly END this without mentioning..
the CAMEO of
TESSA ❤ JEM.
And I quote Izzy ““Okayyyyy,” Isabelle said in a low voice, “When did Brother Zachariah get hot?”
If only I can answer Izzy. That’s just JEM. ♥♥♥
Then, a LOT of glances of the life of the Blackthorns and Castairs, who will lead the next Shadowhunter series.
BECAUSE of course, it will never be finished.
(I have to say, I cried only THRICE in this book.
TWICE because of the Blackthorns and Castairs
the other ONE is for CLARY and SEBASTIAN and JOCELYN)
LASTLY, FOR CASSANDRA CLARE
(despite the previous issues that surround your name, true/not, they are all in the past. and I still love your books)
BUT for making a lot of our lives more interesting,
So, the end for now: Jace, Clary, Simon, Izzy, Alec, Magnus, and the rest of the gang!
See you next time!
