Title: WHERE YOU’LL FIND ME
Author: Erin Fletcher
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Pub. Date: January 7, 2014
When Hanley Helton discovers a boy living in her garage, she knows she should kick him out. But Nate is too charming to be dangerous. He just needs a place to get away, which Hanley understands. Her own escape methods—vodka, black hair dye, and pretending the past didn’t happen—are more traditional, but who is she to judge?
Nate doesn’t tell her why he’s in her garage, and she doesn’t tell him what she’s running from. Soon, Hanley¹s trading her late-night escapades for all-night conversations and stolen kisses. But when Nate¹s recognized as the missing teen from the news, Hanley isn’t sure which is worse: that she’s harboring a fugitive, or that she’s in love with one.
Sneezing out into the empty garage and hearing someone say “Bless you.” will probably freak out normal girls. It will definitely send me screaming never mind that I intended to sneak out. But not Hanley. Okay, so she freaked too but only before seeing who was behind that voice. And okay, maybe I’d freak with a different reason if I were the one who saw who hides behind that scruffy manly voice. If it’s someone like Nate, I’d be all fainty and woo-ey. ha!
Where You’ll Find Me by Erin Fletcher is not all about those rushy heady romance, but it also is about that. What I’m trying to say is we all have secrets and we all hide something from other people. Whether it be bad or good, but there definitely is something. Hanley and Nate are no exceptions. Hanley hides behind the good turned bad girl that she is. Sneaking out at night partying despite all the grounded punishment she has. Really, I hate girls who are like Hanley. I mean I get her but for her parent’s sake, I hate what she’s doing. Clearly they’re concerned but she closes off. Good thing she met Nate though right? But Nate is also hiding… and he dealt with it differently from Hanley. If Hanley’s into sneaking and partying and getting drunk, Nate escapes by fleeing away from home.
When both of them met, it almost instantaneously felt like it was fate. The series of things that happen afterwards brought them closer to each other. Sometimes it’s sweet, and sometimes I don’t understand them. And in the end it all made sense..somehow.
Where You’ll Find Me is somehow a realistic fiction, not that uncommon to the normal society we are in now, but the story that Erin Fletcher wove the issue in was fairly nice and I really enjoyed reading it. 🙂
FTC disclosure: A copy was given by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. And as part of the blog tour.
Erin Fletcher is a morning person who does most of her writing before sunrise while drinking excessive quantities of coffee, believes flip-flops qualify as year-round footwear, and would spend every day at the beach if she could. She has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics (which is almost never useful when writing books) and lives in North Carolina.
